2. How much does a replacement battery cost?
It depends on the battery type and the capacity your vehicle needs, and lithium-ion costs more upfront than lead-acid. Call us on +91 88189 68201 with your model details and we will quote you properly rather than giving you a number that turns out not to apply.
3. My range has dropped. Does that mean the battery is finished?
Not necessarily. Gradual range loss over years is normal ageing, but a sudden drop often points to a charger fault, a wiring problem or the battery management system rather than the cells themselves. Bring it in and we will diagnose it before recommending anything.
4. Can I upgrade from lead-acid to lithium-ion?
Often yes, but not always. The vehicle's controller, charger and mounting space all have to suit the change, and forcing an incompatible upgrade can damage the motor or controller. Bring the scooter in and we will tell you whether the upgrade works on your model.
5. Can a battery be repaired instead of replaced?
Sometimes. Faults in the connections, fuses or the battery management system can often be repaired. Genuine cell degradation cannot, and needs replacement. We diagnose first so you are not paying for a new battery when you do not need one.
6. How long does a battery last?
It depends on the type, how you charge it and how hard the vehicle is used. Lithium-ion typically lasts considerably longer than lead-acid. Charging habits make a real difference, and we will talk you through what shortens battery life on your particular vehicle.
7. My scooter is out of warranty and the brand service centre will not help. Can you?
Yes, and this is a large part of what we do. We regularly supply and fit batteries for older and out of warranty vehicles that brand service centres no longer support. Tell us the model and we will tell you honestly what is available.
8. Is it safe to use a different charger with a new battery?
Only if it matches the battery's voltage and current rating. Using the wrong charger is one of the most common causes of premature battery failure and can be dangerous. Check with us before using any charger that did not come with the vehicle or the battery.
9. Why is my battery getting hot while charging?
Some warmth is normal, but a battery that becomes hot to the touch needs checking. It can indicate a failing cell, a charger mismatch or a battery management system fault. Stop charging it and call us on +91 88189 68201 rather than continuing to use it.
10. Do you fit the battery, or do I need to arrange that separately?
We fit it at our workshop on BK Sindhi Colony Main Road. You are not sourcing a battery from us and then finding someone else to install it, and fitting it ourselves means we can check the charger and wiring at the same time.
